BON Christmas Hamper Drive

The BON Christmas Hamper Drive is in its 5th year and has grown into an inspiring, community lead initiative to spread some festive cheer and hope to those who need it most.

So far 350 hampers have been delivered across Merseyside. Using our charity partners Riverside Housing and Tomorrow’s Women Wirral for distribution, the hampers go to where they are needed most.

The Hamper Drive has become an integral part of the planning for the festive period for these charities and they want to make sure they can keep providing these luxury food parcels for years to come.

Words cannot describe the difference these hampers make and how appreciated they are by those they are able to help.

The aim this year is to improve on last years’ 170 hampers and get to distribute at least 200 this Christmas.

Every year lessons are learnt, and with the help of a growing number of friends, family and local businesses every target that we set becomes more achievable.

The story behind the BON Christmas Hamper Drive

From a conversation five years ago between BON Plumbing Director Ben Faherty and Richard Finnan from Riverside Housing, the BON Plumbing Christmas Hamper Drive was born.

Richard explained that people could only visit a food bank three times a year and that many of his clients had already used their quota and were facing the very real prospect of having no food for Christmas.

After an evening pontificating over the state of the nation, and the desperate situation many people are finding themselves in during the festive period, they decided action must be taken. and the Hamper Drive started.
